Step into the colorful world of tufting in this 4-hour hands-on workshop! Whether you want to create a soft rug, a decorative wall panel, or a unique home accent, this workshop is designed for all skill levels. You’ll work at your own pace, guided by us, exploring two types of tufting guns — cut pile and loop pile — to bring your ideas to life. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your very own handcrafted creation and a new set of creative skills, ready to inspire your next projects!
Tufting is the art of creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind rugs, where every step of the process is filled with attention to detail and creativity. Using a tufting gun, yarn is pushed into a fabric base to craft vibrant, eye-catching designs. This technique allows you to combine different textures and patterns, resulting in creations that are not only visually stunning but also wonderfully soft to the touch. Tufting isn’t just a way to make rugs — it’s a way to express your personal style and imagination, transforming any space with warmth and elegance.
What will we do?
During our 4-hour tufting class, you’ll learn how to create your very own unique rug.
- 1. Prepare your design!Geometric shapes, abstract patterns, text, or illustrations — anything you imagine! You can sketch it on paper or create it digitally. Need a hand? Don’t worry, we’re here to help!
- 2. You’ll get instructions.
- A brief, hands-on introduction to the tufting technique.
- Learn how to use both types of tufting guns (loop pile and cut pile).
- We’ll also cover safety tips and how to handle the tools with confidence.
- 3. Time to create!You’ll have your own frame with special tufting fabric, a wide selection of colorful yarns, and all the tools you need. Don’t worry — we’ll be there to guide you and offer help every step of the way.
- 4.Your creation is almost ready!We’ll take care of the finishing touches — gluing, trimming, and shearing — so you’ll walk away with your very own unique tufted rug in 3 days! (or optionally, the same day )
The class will be led by:
| Petar Pondev Tufting artist His journey into the world of textiles began in 2020 at an art studio in Berlin. Shortly after, he moved to Portugal, where for two years he actively created, participated in exhibitions, and started leading tufting workshops. Over the years, he has held solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, Berlin, Italy (Milan), Paris, Madrid, and Miami. Today, his works are also featured in permanent exhibitions in Sofia. |

No experience is required! The instructor will guide you step by step and teach you the basic techniques. Just come ready to create something with your own hands and have fun!
You’ll need to prepare or come up with a design for your rug — an image or an idea of what you’d like to create.
It can be something simple, like a smiley face, a flower, an animal, or an abstract shape — the most important thing is that you love it!

Due to finishing steps like gluing and trimming, your rug will be fully ready in 2–3 days — complete, beautiful, and ready to use or gift!

Yes! This workshop is suitable for children aged 10 and up. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. We’ll make sure the experience is fun and enjoyable for both kids and adults!
